Weight Loss
With all the weight loss programs out there you might that everyone would be at their ideal weight by now, but if we take a look around we would see this this is not the case. Why do some work and some don’t. I think that there are some ingredients that should be in a good program. I think that people need a good reason for their loss or a strong “why”. With out a good goal or aim or reason to go for it is easy to give up. What is it that will keep you on the straight and narrow. Some people get a coach to help them to be accountable to, or just knowing you are going in to be weighed helps some. One of the biggest things in a program – Is it convenient to use, Can you use it daily without being the only thing that you think about all day, which could really make you more hungry. Are there hard to find foods or more difficult to prepare. Is it affordable. The price of food is on the rise and real good food is at a premium. We today have to consider where your food comes from and how is it grown. Are the veggies sprayed with pesticides, is the chicken you purchase free range or express grown with chemicals. The beef same question? What they ate you are eating. It is so discouraging to try to lose weight and you think that you are eating good food and it really is keeping you overweight by the chemicals in the food. Does your program include exercise? I’m not talking about running a marathon. I am saying that if you do not exercise you need to start. A good starting point is walking how ever long than increase it with length and intensity. A stroll for 20 minutes will barely burn 100 calories, then many go home and reward themselves with a cookie (do I really need to comment here). Does your program have a balances approach to nutrition? Most doctors will tell you get good nutrition and exercise. O K doc what is good nutrition? Most doctors admittedly will tell you that were not trained on that in doctor school. So you need a nutritionist or some one who knows a good deal about food. Is your program one sided , low carb only low fat only and you feel unsatisfied? Is it a program that you can stay on for life? Yes for life. Getting to a place in life where you are so uncomfortable you realize you need to do something for a short period and the go back to the eating habits that brought to that place where you needed help ( what is the definition of insanity ?). My goal is to help people. I am a weight loss coach. I know that people still go to restaurants, they get invited to birthday parties, and to peoples homes to eat and eat and eat. I get it. Other people may not care that you are trying to get healthy. Some can be jealous that you are losing and they can’t ( or they are not getting the help that they need), but after you lose how do you keep it off and maintain better health and stay away from doctor visits. 70% of doctor visits are nutrition related, yes they can be avoided or decreased. In your regular day do you plan your meals or do you decide when you are hungry. Do you get enough protein? Do you get enough good carbs? Do you get enough good fats? If you are hungry you are not getting enough protein. There is a percentage ratio of protein ,good carbs and good fats. Email me and I will send that to you. For a simple healthy and affordable program get in touch with me and we can discuss some options. Thank you for listening. Mark Southworth
